Formerly a Non-Executive Director, Nick recently is now Chief Executive of Beyond Words. He is a passionate advocate of their work and has extensive experience in marketing and sales, latterly in the publishing of Board Games and Jigsaw Puzzles.
A graduate in Management Sciences from UMIST, Nick developed his commercial skills in the biscuit, confectionery and toy & game industries. He also gained valuable experience of international business, living and working for eight years in The Netherlands and, whilst with Mattel, had general management responsibility for Benelux, Eastern European and Middle East markets.
Nick then spent ten years in Executive Search, advising clients in Consumer Goods markets and matching candidates’ capabilities with the culture of client companies. He returned to commercial management as MD of Gibsons, the UK leader in Adult Puzzles, thereafter founding his own consultancy. He advises organisations in developing commercial and resourcing strategies and offering practical and operational support.
Nick, a Dutch speaker, is married to a Nutrition Coach, and they have two sons, currently at universities in Leiden and Geneva. As well as trying to eat healthily, Nick sings, cycles and plays golf - all three performed with more enthusiasm than ability!
