Jackie Kelly is Professor of Health and Social Care Leadership; Pro-Vice Chancellor and Dean of the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Social Care at Anglia Ruskin University, (ARU). She is responsible for the strategic leadership of the Faculty, the largest provider of professional healthcare education in the East of England. Jackie is also Visiting Professor at the University of Hertfordshire.

Jackie is the England Convenor for the Council of Deans of Health UK, a membership organisation representing UK universities providing education and research for nursing, midwifery and the allied health professions. This experience draws on membership expertise, connecting higher education with national and UK strategic organisations, collaborating to inform and influence policy for high quality education, research and workforce development in healthcare.

Jackie has been a learning disabilities nurse for over 35 years, a systemic practitioner, and previously worked in a variety of clinical settings, notably in multi-professional community teams supporting people with learning disabilities and their families, before moving into higher education. She is Co-Chair and non-medical editor of Intellectual Disabilities and Health, a website resource for medical, nursing, healthcare and social care students and practitioners.

Outside of work, Jackie is a parent advocate for a young person with learning disabilities. With her family, she is involved with Guide Dogs UK fostering trainee guide dogs, most recently a beautiful labrador retriever called ‘Moxy’. She is an avid reader inspired by the power of books, reading and imagery to connect people towards shared understanding.
