Over two days at Newlands Corner and the Devil’s Punchbowl, we walked and talked with people from Surrey Choices and Active Prospects. Together, we explored the joys and challenges of getting outdoors – and started shaping a story that speaks beyond words.

Yesterday we launched A Cheeky Seagull at Turner Contemporary in Margate! Co-created by members of the Deal & Folkestone Beyond Words Book Clubs—supported by Kent Libraries—this delightful picture story follows a lively seaside adventure with an unexpected (and cheeky!) guest.

We're celebrating a major milestone! Beyond Words has just launched its 100th Book Club in a Box—a nationwide initiative helping people with learning disabilities enjoy stories, build friendships, and feel part of a community.

This week, Beyond Words proudly celebrates the incredible achievements of our City Lit Co-Trainers, who have been named finalists in the 2025 Learning Disability & Autism Leaders Awards. Their role in co-delivering Book Club facilitator training is a shining example of true co-production in action.

A group of talented artists returned to the spotlight yesterday – this time in the heart of Westminster. Winners of the Beyond Words Art Competition were invited to the Houses of Parliament for a special tour and tea with Baroness Hollins.

We visited our 2025 Beyond Words Book Club of the Year and celebrated with a book reading and cream tea on the South Coast.

In May, our team took a step back from our daily work and spent the day off-site to focus on strategy.
