New Beyond Words Artist Mike Nicholson at The London Art Book Fair 2015

September 10, 2015

The evening of Thursday 10 September saw the grand opening of The London Art Book Fair 2015. Beyond Words are proud to announce that our new illustrator, Mike Nicholson, is exhibiting his work. Mike’s books will be on display until Sunday 13 September so why not pop over to The Whitechapel Gallery and say hello!

Mike is currently working on one of the new Books Beyond Words books, which looks to explore the complexities and difficulties surrounding obesity and weight loss. After two successful editorial groups, and a large number of black and white illustrations, Mike is set to start work on the first colour drafts which will be trialled by book clubs, schools and other groups across the country to see how well the story works for them. If you know or are part of a group who would like to try out our story and be part of the development of this important book, please get in touch with us: publishing@booksbeyondwords.co.uk.

When Mike is not creating beautiful pictures for Beyond Words he is busy with other projects, including Ensixteen Editions which showcases his prowess as a writer, illustrator and artist. You can currently go and see Mike’s work and get a taste of what’s to come in his debut title for the Books Beyond Words series. Alongside Mike at The London Art Book Fair is his partner Mette-Sophie D. Ambeck (Ambeck Design). Mette-Sophie produces intricate paper cuttings and installations, alongside print and other beautifully handmade items. To get a sense of what both artists are trying to achieve, we suggest you pay a visit to The Whitechapel Gallery this weekend.

The new Beyond Words book on obesity is due for release in 2016. Please keep visiting our site for updates and other exclusive material during the production process.
